confidenceman: (you're making me blush)

There were certain memories that Sawyer held very closely to heart, memories that he wasn't capable of brushing past with the mere passage of time. One, in particular, was had in a climate much like this one, with bugs buzzing in the background and the sun bright overhead, with a woman in his arms, her hair tickling the side of his arm. He remembered it very well. Keenly, he would've even said. And it had the unfortunate effect of making Sawyer realize all of the reasons for which she might've held silent, as well as he suspected that he knew what was in her heart.

Leaning down, he kissed Lily tenderly on the temple, if only because it was the only way he could think of to express his feelings without being somehow dishonest. The words, the definitions, the terms were all things that he felt incapable of settling just then, but the possibility itself lingered on, and Sawyer had no desire of closing that door anytime soon.

Hopefully she would understand that.
